Matthew grew up in Penobscot County, Maine. He now lives and works in picturesque Hilton Head, close to the southern Beaufort County town of Bluffton.

Outside of his work, Matthew enjoys various personal hobbies and other interests. Among these hobbies and interests are playing golf and following professional sports. He is a proud supporter of the charitable organization United Way Worldwide, which fights for access to healthcare, education, and stability in communities across the globe.

Matthew Cook works at Weichert Realtors Coastal Properties. He operates from the full-service real estate company's Hilton Head office. From here, he and his colleagues serve clients in Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head, Okatie, and surrounding areas. The same team also handles property sales in the nearby coastal city of Savannah in neighboring Georgia.

Weichert Realtors Coastal Properties is an independently owned and operated real estate company that is a franchisee under the renowned Weichert Realtors brand. The well-established company serves a combination of residential and commercial clients. It currently has five offices across coastal areas of both South Carolina and Georgia.

In addition to Matthew Cook Maine work at Weichert Realtors Coastal Properties, Cook also serves as a part-time driver and package handler. He does so for the express delivery and courier company, United Parcel Service.

Career History

Before joining Weichert Realtors Coastal Properties and United Parcel Service, Matthew Cook owned a successful appraisal company. He established the firm in 2006.

Although now based and operating in southernmost South Carolina, Cook's real estate career began in his home state of Maine. He has been a licensed realtor in Pine Tree State since 2005. The real estate professional has spent more than two and a half decades in the property industry.

Throughout his career, Matthew has focused closely on supporting first-time home buyers. It is a focus he enjoys and is proud to maintain today through his work at coastal property specialists Weichert Realtors.

Academic History

Matthew Cook Maine native, is a graduate of Eastern Maine Community College. He studied at Eastern Maine Community College for some years before starting his highly successful real estate career.

Eastern Maine Community College provides high-quality post-secondary career, technical, and transfer education. It also serves as a dynamic community and economic resource from its sprawling 72-acre campus in Cook's Bangor, Maine home city. From Eastern Maine Community College, Cook holds his associate's degree in residential construction.

The school offers a broad curriculum of program options, including specialized training for various industries and more community-focused operations. Programs of study include building construction, business development, business management, and human services, plus options for numerous other skilled trade occupations.

After graduating from Eastern Maine Community College, Matthew quickly entered the real estate industry. In parallel to his core real estate work, he also served as a specialist appraiser in his home state of Maine until 2014. He has since focused his efforts on his core work as a realtor.

Matthew Cook Maine is involved with several charities, nonprofit organizations, and other all-important good causes.

 Just one of the good causes supported by Cook is United Way Worldwide. United Way Worldwide fights for access to community health, education, and stability in the U.S. and overseas. The organization is engaged in over 95 percent of the United States and over 1,000 communities across 37 countries and territories worldwide.

Above and beyond his support of United Way Worldwide and other good causes, Beaufort County-based real estate professional Matthew is similarly focused on volunteering opportunities in the Hilton Head area.

Personal Interests

Matthew Cook was born and raised in Bangor, Maine. In addition to his professional work and charitable endeavors, he enjoys various hobbies and interests. Among these hobbies and interests are professional sports, playing golf, and spending time in the great outdoors.

Cook first took up golf after a childhood friend's back surgery and advice from their doctor to use golf to speed up the recovery process. He purchased a set of clubs from a yard sale and immediately fell in love with the game. From there on, he enjoyed playing with his father and brother-in-law every weekend until his father passed away in 2017.

He has since taken to playing golf alongside his son. The keen golfer and licensed realtor relocated to Hilton Head in Beaufort County, South Carolina, in 2022, where he now revels in spending time outdoors. The island of Hilton Head is renowned for its beaches and golf courses.

Matthew Cook Maine enjoys nothing more than spending time with his son when he isn't working or indulging in various hobbies. The pair regularly spend time together on and off the golf course with their close friends and family, both in Beaufort County and in Cook's home city of Bangor in the Pine Tree State of Maine.
