Before joining Weichert Realtors Coastal Properties and United Parcel Service, Matthew Cook Maine owned a successful appraisal company. He established the firm in 2006.
Although now based and operating in southernmost South Carolina, Cook’s real estate career began in his home state of Maine. He has been a licensed realtor in the so-called Pine Tree State since 2005. Altogether, the real estate professional has spent more than two and a half decades in the property industry.
Throughout his career, Matthew has focused closely on supporting first-time home buyers. He enjoys this focus and is proud to maintain it today through his work at coastal property specialists Weichert Realtors.

Matthew Cook, a native of Maine, is a graduate of Eastern Maine Community College. He studied there for several years before promptly embarking on his now highly successful real estate career.
Eastern Maine Community College provides high-quality post-secondary career, technical, and transfer education. From its sprawling 72-acre campus in Cook’s home city of Bangor, Maine, Eastern Maine Community College also serves as a dynamic community and economic resource. Cook holds an associate’s degree in residential construction from Eastern Maine Community College.
The school offers a broad curriculum of program options, including specialized training for various industries and more community-focused operations. Programs of study on offer include building construction, business development, business management, and human services, plus options for numerous other skilled trade occupations.
After graduating from Eastern Maine Community College, Matthew quickly entered the real estate industry. In parallel to his core real estate work, he also served as a specialist appraiser in his home state of Maine until 2014. He has since focused his efforts on his core work as a realtor.

Personal Interests
Matthew Cook Mine was born and raised in Bangor, Maine. In addition to his professional work and charitable endeavors, he enjoys a range of hobbies and interests, including professional sports, playing golf, and spending time in the great outdoors.
Cook first took up golf after a childhood friend’s back surgery and advice from their doctor to use golf to speed up the recovery process. He purchased a set of clubs from a yard sale and immediately fell in love with the game. From there on, he enjoyed playing with his father and brother-in-law every weekend until his father passed away in 2017.
He has since taken up playing golf with his son. The keen golfer and licensed realtor relocated to Hilton Head in Beaufort County, South Carolina, in 2022, where he now revels in spending time outdoors. The island of Hilton Head is renowned for its beaches and golf courses.
Matthew Cook enjoys nothing more than spending time with his son when he isn’t working or indulging in his various hobbies. The pair regularly spend time together on and off the golf course with their close friends and family, both in Beaufort County and back in Cook’s home city of Bangor in the Pine Tree State of Maine.
